Invisible Friends

This photograph by Dick Arentz - a tribute to Frederick Evans who took an
earlier picture of the staircase in Wells cathedral - was taken, amazingly, when
the steps were crowded with people, over a long period. Because of the long
exposure, the people are invisible, since they are going too fast for the
camera's eye - like our friends in spirit, who are all around us, all the time,
vibrating too fast for our eyes to catch them.
